Hazardous Waste Disposal

SET Environmental takes great pride in offering hazardous waste disposal solutions that eliminate customer liability when wastes are shipped to our Part B–permitted Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF) in Houston, Texas. SET's extensive Part B permit allows us to perform a variety of chemical treatment and consolidation services. When you partner with SET, you can rest assured that our entire network of select disposal facilities is thoroughly audited by RCRA compliance specialists.

Types of Hazardous Waste We Handle
The broad range of waste types that we can accept allows us to provide comprehensive Hazardous Waste Disposal Services to both large and small quantity generators. We offer multi-treatment capabilities with single-site convenience for a vast range of hazardous substances and materials, such as:

Reactives
Our comprehensive hazardous waste disposal and treatment capabilities include the neutralization of acids and bases, oxidation and reduction, and hydrolysis of water reactives through our Reactives Processing System. We accept reactive wastes in lab pack configurations as well as in drums and cylinders.

Compressed Gas Cylinders
Our comprehensive Gas Cylinder Management Program is founded on our expertise in gas handling, process engineering, regulatory knowledge, and specialty chemical treatment. SET designs safe, efficient treatment options for over 500 gases that would otherwise require more expensive disposal.

Lab Packs
We are equipped to accept small containers and quantities of lab materials, even if they do not appear to be “laboratory chemicals”, provided they are packaged per our Lab Pack Guidelines. We can also provide Lab Pack Services upon request.

Corrosives
SET accepts and neutralizes a wide variety of corrosive wastes, including inorganic acid, phosphoric, nitric, and chromic acids, as well as inorganic basic mixtures or discarded base products, such as sodium hydroxide, ammonium hydroxide, and potassium hydroxide. We also accept organic acids and bases, such as amines and acetic acid.

Fuels Blending
For fuels blending, we will pick up organic liquids, sludges, and solids. We also accept fuels with high halogen content or those containing RCRA-regulated metal.

Pesticides
We accept pesticides in solid, liquid, and gaseous states, including RCRA-regulated and non-regulated pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and rodenticides.

Mercury Wastes
SET is able to collect most metallic Mercury-containing instruments. We are also able to take care of most of the inorganic Mercury salts and salt solutions, such as mercuric chloride and mercuric sulfate, as well as organic Mercury wastes such as phenylmercuric acetate. If in small quantities, we can lab pack Mercury waste or put it into drums and profile it as part of a waste stream. Learn more about our Mercury Decontamination Services.

RCRA Metal Contaminated Wastes
SET accepts RCRA metal-contaminated wastes in various forms.  Wastes may contain any of the RCRA metals such as lead and chromium.

Customized Tracking and Reporting Services
SET utilizes a cloud-based environmental management system, with barcode capabilities, specifically designed to track wastes and support various reporting requirements.  This cradle to grave management system provides our partners with updated information on manifest mailings, the status of waste handling, allows for site/treatment restrictions, and can generate certificates of treatment and/or destruction on demand.

Our stellar safety and compliance record, treatment capabilities, location and key partnerships with our network of reputable, audited and industry leaders make SET a strategic partner for waste generators of all sizes.
